The 6th Annual So Cal Linux Expo is over, and by all measures was a
success. The Expo had over 1400 registered attendees, up 10% from last
year.
Jono Bacon and Stony Peters presented their keynotes on Saturday and
Sunday respectively, to large crowds in the theater of the Westin LAX.
When the crowd at the Saturday keynote was polled as to how many were
there for the first time, almost half raised their hands. That bodes
well both for SCALE, and for the future of Open Source Software in
Southern California.
Traffic through the expo floor was good and the vendors were happy with
it. The talks were well attended for the most part. The speaker
surveys are being collated and will be used for planning future Expos.
Photos from SCALE 6X are on Flickr - the link is on the SCALE web site
at http://www.socallinuxexpo.org, and there are both audio and text
interviews of selected speakers and organization representatives posted
there. We're working hard to get both the presentations and the videos
from the talks posted. Check back frequently.
Planning for SCALE 7X will start in a few weeks. Stay tuned!
